Send files from Android to iPhone
Cross the platform gap with nothing but a browser on each phone.
Steps
- Open the official ShareDrop.io website on your Android phone and on your iPhone.
- Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi network. If they are on different networks, create a room on one device and open its link on the other.
- Wait until the other device appears on your screen as an icon.
- Click or tap that icon and choose the files you want to send.
- On the receiving device, accept the incoming file prompt.
- Keep both tabs open until the progress bar finishes, then save the file.
Why this works well
Android and iPhone do not share a built-in sharing tool. A browser-based tool works on both without extra apps.
Tips
- On iPhone, use Safari and keep it updated.
- Accept the prompt on the iPhone, then save the file from the browser.
- Use a room if the phones are on different networks.
Features can change over time. Check the official ShareDrop.io site for the latest details.
