Send files from Mac to Windows
Move files between a Mac and a Windows PC with no cable and no cloud.
Steps
- Open the official ShareDrop.io website on your Mac and on your Windows PC.
- Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi network. If they are on different networks, create a room on one device and open its link on the other.
- Wait until the other device appears on your screen as an icon.
- Click or tap that icon and choose the files you want to send.
- On the receiving device, accept the incoming file prompt.
- Keep both tabs open until the progress bar finishes, then save the file.
Why this works well
AirDrop does not reach Windows. A browser tool lets a Mac and a PC swap files on the same network in a few clicks.
Tips
- Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox all work on the Mac.
- Zip folders first so they travel as a single file.
- Prefer 5 GHz Wi-Fi for faster local transfers.
Features can change over time. Check the official ShareDrop.io site for the latest details.
